‘War and death, People taking last breaths, Corrupt systems, morals decay, Get up baby, we’ll make them pay’ (Dog Eat Dog)

Back Again is the debut 7-inch from Haarlem’s Robber.  The band’s ranks feature members of Oust and Traumatizer, which is something of a sonic herring.  But, it does speak lucidly to the snapping velocity with which these five tracks are unleashed.  Rather than d-beat fired hardcore though, Robber explore a sound that fuses high octane garage rock and roughly hewn, anthemic street punk.

Each element from the raucously combative vocals to the melodically fuzzed-out guitars, and bouncing rhythm section speak to the band’s shared hardcore roots and imbue proceedings with an urgent, thoroughly satisfying bite.  The cavorting title track, the rollicking The Rocker, and the barrelling Dog Eat Dog perfectly capture the beer drenched, sweaty backroom energy.
