‘It’s an everyday hate that walks this world with me, Contempt for each face on the street that I’m passing, Disgust for the reflection I’m forced to see’ (Hatred For Your Kind)

Ideation draw their members largely from fellow Tallahassee outfits, Armor and Protocol.  In a rare instance of satisfying musical symmetry, if you were to throw the fuzzed, d-beat fuelled groove of the former and the primitive, blown out sonic violence of the latter into your mental blender, Ideation would not to be too far from what you would most likely conjure.

The band released their demo, Blunt Instrument, back in 2021 and had gone rather quiet since then.  They now return with their debut 12-inch, Hatred Of Your Kind, a viciously nihilistic slab.  At their heart, the seven tracks are rooted in classic USHC, but then filtered through an altogether more abrasive lens – the riffage is raw and the rhythms bludgeoning as the band fuse eruptions of blistering, just shy of blast beat, speed with barbarously intense breakdowns.

However, the defining element is arguably the rampant vocal performance that seethes in equal measure with contempt for those who sow bigotry and division, and with despair at a society mindlessly consuming itself.  Personal stand outs are the crushing breakdown that defines Aryan Chip, the elastic stomp of the title track, and the utterly coruscating closer, Azure Suicide, with its thunderous martial beats and psychedelia-tinged climax.
