City of Caterpillar return with their second LP after a 20-year hiatus, and things have changed, but much also remains the same.

Hitting the recording studio after such a span of time must clearly represent quite a challenge – life can throw a lot at a person in two decades.  But City of Caterpillar have done so with undoubted success.  They have not sought to recreate past glories, but rather to reconstitute them in new forms – still impassioned, but less fraught.  They have created an atmosphere that brims with emotion and melancholic reflection in equal measure.  Surging, twisting song structures and lush instrumentation (including sparingly but well-judged brass and strings) continually reveal new layers of engagement.
