‘Empty hollow promises, Do you think they care? Game of tricks and favours, Do they play it fair?’ (No Change)

Hailing from Haarlem, and sharing their bassist with Traumatizer, Omtzigt Kommando (Override Command) barge into view with their self-titled debut 7-inch.  Across the five tracks, they deal in an almost timeless interpretation of USHC.  Burly vocals and bludgeoning rhythms lock in with razor sharp, garage-tinged guitars, together with blink and you miss it solos.  They are all wrapped up together to deliver a pugnacious slap to the face.

However, as they confront the reactionary turn in Dutch politics, democratic disenfranchisement, and the creep of the panopticon state, Omtzigt Kommando prove thoroughly adept at bringing their own distinctive stamp to bear on these fundamentals.  The bruising stomp of K.G.B. and the resonantly cascading melodies of State Surveillance are particular treats, before a cover of 1982’s Warsystem by Göteborg’s Shitlickers brings proceedings to a suitably frenzied finale.
