After a nine-year hiatus, Panama’s Juventud Podrida return with their seventh EP of ferocious d-beat infused metallic crust.  Across four tracks, down tuned buzzsaw guitars are underpinned by darkly distorted basslines and bludgeoning drums.  The emphasis is on forging a relentless groove, with brief flashes of slower more stenchcore influenced power, which reaches a crushing crescendo on Control Y Encierro (Control And Confinement).  Meanwhile, raw, effects-drenched Spanish vocals explore themes of how political corruption and distorted economic priorities work in partnership to foreclose alternatives and protect entrenched interests.
