‘Conceal the truth, People in suffering, Spectacle for the masses’ (Rotting Pages)

Hellknife return with their second full-length, Flames Of Damnation, and follow up to 2019’s Dusk Of Doom.  The Mannheim band continue to forge a sound rooted in blackened metallic crust.  The surging guitars and thunderously propulsive, d-beat fired rhythm section are interlaced with swells of dramatic, sorrowful melody and blast beat barrages in equal measure as the band adroitly juxta pose the melancholic and the malevolent.

A world mired in militarised violence, environmental catastrophe, wilful misinformation, and entrenched inequality are the focal point for the rhythmically roared, apocalyptic vocals.  Highlights include the rampaging Rotting Pages and the infectiously choppy groove of Abyss alongside the bulldozer of a title track.
