‘Half pulled through the needle, You’re stuck in the eye, It’s so comical, A plaintiff for fodder, Expected to fall, How could we ignore?’ (Coward’s Disaster)

Tucson’s Class are a back with their second full-length, a follow-up to 2022’s Epoca de Los Vaqueros.  They are a band who are unashamedly immersed in the classic sounds of 1970s’ rock’n’roll.  But this is no slavish homage, but rather an invigorating reworking that injects its influences with a surging punk energy and an infectious pop sensibility.  Layered harmonies, driving melodies, and sing-along choruses define the band’s approach, and deftly crafted songwriting ensures that they are delivered to maximum effect, most notably, perhaps, on Coward’s Disaster, Two-Way Track, and Just Another Number.   A darkly tinged, wryly observed contemporary Americana forms the lyrical fulcrum, a perfect foil for the accompanying soundtrack.
