Hot on the heels of their new album, Fiction Prediction, Planet B (featuring Justin Pearson and Luke Henshaw) are back in action with a new split EP and collaboration.
Side A is in the hands of N8NOFACE, a California based solo artist. Across three tracks he whips up a noise infused blend of synth-driven darkwave and robotically detached vocals underpinned by industrial meets hip hop rhythms.
The flipside sees Planet B in collaboration with Los Angeles EBM artist Mariana Saldaña aka Ms.Boan. Their first offering is Connective Tissue, which would have been very much at home on the recent LP, a typically inventive melding of bristling aggression and utterly infectious grooves. Ms.Boan’s powerfully clean sung vocals prove an intriguing complement to Pearson’s rhythmically nasal delivery. She then takes over from Pearson on a remix of Cumbia Mundial by another Luke Henshaw project, Sonido De La Frontera, that cleverly fuses the Latin flavoured original with Planet B’s pulsating electronic punk.
